Mysuru, May 18: Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala, Member of the Rajyasabha and the President of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) Educational Society, Ujire, launched the ‘SDM NEWS’ application during the SDM Group HOIs (Head of the Institutions) annual meet ‘Retreat-2023', here at SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), today.

Harshendra Kumar, Secretary, SDM Educational Society; Dr. Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SDM University & Medical Director, SDM College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, Dharwad; V. Jeevandar Kumar, Dr. Satheeshchandra S., Secretaries, SDM Educational Society; Shreyas Kumar, Project Director, SDM Educational Society; D. Nishchal Kumar, Finance Director, SDM Educational Society, and other dignitaries accompanied Dr. Heggade during the launch.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Heggade lauded the newly launched application that provides regular updates on the SDM Educational institutions across the state.
Explaining the app, Pooran Varma, Chief Executive Officer -IT and Hostel Administration, SDME Society, Ujire said, “The ‘SDM NEWS’ is an application that aims to provide users with a seamless and personalized news experience. With its intuitive design, real-time updates, and diverse range of news sources from all the institutions of SDME Society, our app empowers students and staff to stay informed about all the programs and developments taking place in all the institutions of SDMES”.

is the single portal for the news feeds of all the institutions of the SDM Educational Society, Ujire. This project is the brainchild of the former Secretary of SDM Educational Society Late Dr. B Yashovarma.
The selected Users (Teachers/ Students/ Administrators) with login credentials from all the institutions will contribute and share news articles, success stories, educational resources, and event updates within the portal and therefore, this fosters a sense of community and engagement. Every news contributed will be reviewed by the identified staff with ‘Editor Access’ at the college level before being shared with the admin at Head Office. The Admin at the Head Office will again review the content and only after approval, it will be uploaded on the portal.
Also, advertisements, congratulatory posts, etc will be uploaded in a separate space which will increase awareness among the students of SDM.
