Mangaluru, December 16: Alumni meet and XI Silver Jubilee Endowment Lecture programmes were held on the second day (December 15) of the two-day Golden Jubilee Celebrations (Suvarna Patha) of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College Centre for Post-graduate Studies and Research in Law, Mangalore.

Attorney General of India Dr. R. Venkataramani delivered XI Silver Jubilee Endowment Lecture. He addressed the issue of technology taking over man power and the adequacy in the technology related results which cannot be relied upon when it comes to decision making.
Attorney General appreciated the initiative of Dr Heggade to start a law college which has achieved milestones in imparting quality legal education. He connected Dharmasthala and Dharma hand in hand and said, there is great significance regarding the same which has led to the grand successful completion of 50 years to this institution.
The Indian Constitution discovers the future by looking into the past. To understand fresh insights towards usage of the Indian Constitution, it is important to look into its history and then give judicial decisions. President of the SDM Educational Society, Ujire Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, in his address, embarked that choosing law was the last option previously to people whereas now the dimensions have changed because of the quality education that is provided.
Learning law is not limited to attending classes but understanding the seriousness of the course and pursuing it with seriousness is important to become successful and contribute to society he said.
“More than 3 years course, 5 years law course will have deeper impact and better learning outcomes”, he added.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader's message was read during the occasion (in his absence). He mentioned (in it), despite being a last bench student if he's today able to be a speaker of legislative assembly then it is only because of SDM Law College, Mangalore. Advocacy is not just a profession but it's a big social responsibility and advocates are ambassadors of the Indian Constitution.
